Paine's Park is being
developed in partnership with
the Fairmount Park Commission.
Our Mission
Paine's Park is the marquee project of Franklin's Paine Skatepark Fund and Philadelphia's next great landmark. Our mission is to advocate and fund the construction of free, public skateboarding facilities in the City of Philadelphia and to serve as the central facilitator of skateboard programming, events and youth education in the Philadelphia region.
Organizational HistoryInspired by the loss of Love Park as a world renowned center for skateboarding and the growth of the global marketplace of action sports, Franklin's Paine Skatepark Fund offers innovative models for ways in which cities and its citizens can work together to develop safe public spaces for skateboarding and general pedestrian use.
Franklin's Paine Skatepark Fund (FPSF) was established in 2001 as a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization. The largest skateboarding advocacy group in the metropolitan region, Franklin's Paine acts as a conduit within the skateboarding community at large and educates cities and municipalities on the changing market demands within the sport. As a voice for skaters in the region, Franklin's Paine offers solutions to bridge the divide between the City of Philadelphia and the increasing needs of a rapidly growing skateboarding population.
Franklin's Paine seeks to inform the public understanding of how skateboarders integrate into and relate to urban space. Cutting edge skatepark design driven by local community input, incorporate skaters into the core fabric of our city, creating cultural destinations and unique landmarks for everyday use.
